Last night’s red carpet was hot-to-death thanks to the many women of the noir set whose style lit the match. From Viola’s natural do to Lupita’s rainbow salute and Uzo show stopping ensemble-these women came to play and I took notice. If the red carpet chatter boxes haven’t given them much attention before consider last night’s showing your official notice.

“Our race issues are cellular”. Those were the comments made by Iyanla Vanzants in the opening of the Light Girls documentary with regard to the black communities issues with colorism. The term cellular however, maintains that the roots of colorism are innate in our person rather than learned behavior.

The best part of any awards show begins about an hour before all the speeches and monologues-it’s the fashion.
