The Wrap’s Fashion Edition: Le SAG Noir

Last night’s red carpet was hot-to-death thanks to the many women of the noir set whose style lit the match. From Viola’s natural do to Lupita’s rainbow salute and Uzo show stopping ensemble-these women came to play and I took notice. If the red carpet chatter boxes haven’t given them much attention before consider last night’s showing your official notice. Where to begin…

Viola Davis stunned in a beautiful white gown that radiated off her dark chocolate skin. As if the dress wasn’t enough Viola rocked her natural hair and it look fabulous.

Oh and did I mention she WON last night! Viola received her actor award for lead female in a drama series for her portrayal of Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder. In her acceptance speech she recognized the need for diversity in Hollywood.

Watch her speech:

Us Aduba also had a big night-and that is not just talking about the impact of her lovely butter colored dress but also winning two awards- one for Best Comedy Ensemble for Orange is the New Black and for Actress in a comedy. Two historic wins for black women last night!

Most diverse female ensemble on television!

Our favorite polinista Laverne Cox looked positively glamorous in her embellished rose satin gown.

Now, I wasn’t in LOVE with Lupita’s Golden Globe look she knocked me over with her SAG dress. It was everything that Lupins is-vibrant, intricate and full of life. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!

Danielle Brooks from Orange is the New Black looked ethereal in her eggplant custom Christian Siriano gown.

Statues or not, your style game is killing it-bravo ladies!
